01Acceptance
By creating an account and using Breaker6 during the private beta, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms are a contract between you and Breaker6, the operator of Breaker6.
02What Breaker6 is
Breaker6 is a voice-first audio platform where users record and publish structured spoken posts, organised into chapters, within interest-based topics. Access during this period is by invitation only.
03Beta access
Access to Breaker6 during this period is by private invitation. By accepting an invitation you acknowledge that:
- The platform is under active development and may contain bugs.
- Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly.
- The service may be interrupted for maintenance or updates without notice.
- Your beta access may be revoked at our discretion.
We make no guarantees about uptime, feature availability, or data persistence during the beta period. That said, we take reasonable steps to protect your content and will give reasonable notice of any significant changes.
04Your account
- You must be aged 16 or over to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address used for login.
- Do not share your login access with others.
- You may only create one account. Duplicate accounts may be removed.
05Content you create
Ownership
You retain ownership of the audio, text, and other content you create on Breaker6.
Licence you grant us
By publishing content on Breaker6, you grant Breaker6 a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, transcribe, summarise, and display your content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.
We do not sell your content or licence it to third parties.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the content you publish. You must not post content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, or harassing.
- Infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Contains personal data of others without their consent.
- Promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination.
- Is spam, misleading, or fraudulent.
- Violates any applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to remove content that breaches these rules.
06AI processing
When you publish a post, your audio is automatically transcribed and a short summary is generated for each chapter. These are produced using third-party AI services (Google Cloud Speech-to-Text and the Anthropic API). By using the platform you consent to this processing as part of the core service.
AI-generated summaries are functional aids and should not be treated as authoritative representations of your content.
07Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data belonging to other users.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform.
- Use the platform to distribute malware or carry out automated attacks.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
- Use the platform in any way that could harm other users or the service.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
08Free tier limits
During beta, all accounts are on the free tier. The following limits apply:
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum posts per account | 4 per month |
| Maximum chapters per post | 5 |
| Maximum recording duration per chapter | 10 minutes |
These limits exist to protect service quality for all beta participants.
09Service availability
We aim to keep Breaker6 available but make no guarantees during the beta period. We are not liable for any loss caused by downtime, data loss, or service interruption during beta.
10Intellectual property
Breaker6, the name, and all associated trademarks, design elements, and platform code are owned by Breaker6. You may not use them without written permission.
11Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@breaker6.com. We will delete your content and personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if we close the beta programme. We will give reasonable notice where possible.
12Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Breaker6 is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of Breaker6, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or damage to reputation.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will notify you by email before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
